  17. Introduction
  18. ------------
  19. CR2CRLF is an usefull utility for those who use the program Ingocom written
  20. by DH5MBC. This program allows you to use a Baycom modem with the Atari ST.
  21.  
  22. As Ingocom is a rather primitive program in comparison to Baycom for PC,
  23. it has some drawbacks.
  24. One of them is that a textfile wich is saved to disk, has no decent CR/LF
  25. at the end of each line. This is rather messy if you load such a file in
  26. an editor or if you want to view it from the GEM desktop.

  28. The main function of CR2LF is to insert an extra LF character after each
  29. CR character. So you will have no problem editing it with a normal editor.
  30. Also, every 7plus file in the text file will be saved as a seperate file
  31. with the correct file name. So all you have to do, if you want to download a
  32. program from a bbs, is to open a file to disk (W command) and list all the
  33. 7plus parts. If everything is received, close the file (W OFF) and exit the
  34. bbs. Now exit Ingocom (Q) and start CR2CRLF.

  36. The first message is an alert box telling you how much buffer memory CR2CRLF
  37. has allocated for itself. This is for you to know what the maximum possible
  38. size is of a file to be converted. Click on Ok and the menu bar will be
  39. displayed.

  41. Convert a file
  42. --------------
  43. To convert a file, select the Convert option under FILE in the menu bar.
  44. A file selector box will appear and you can select the file you wanted to
  45. convert. The next time you select this option, you will start in the same
  46. folder is the last file you selected, so you don't have to go through
  47. selecting the complete path every time you want convert a file. This is
  48. of course usefull if you setup a folder for downloaded files.
  49. The file will be loaded and another selector box appears.
  50. This time you will have to type the name of the converted file. I recommend
  51. you use a RAM disk for the converted files, this is a lot quicker. But you
  52. can also save it on the same disk (and even with the same name) as the
  53. original file.
